Band

Holly Gage is currently the Assistant Band Director at Patrick Henry Middle School, along with beginning band at Hawthorne Elementary, and John Harris Elementary. She has also spent a number of years in various middle schools and elementary schools in the Sioux Falls School District.

Holly also spent any years teaching general music and 3rd through 5th grade band at Fillmore Arts Center in the Washington DC Public School system. While in DC, she also led weekly in-school professional development sessions around the themes of Social Emotional Learning, and Equity and Diversity.

Hello! My name is Sam Anderson and I'm currently the Band Director at Patrick Henry Middle School, Susan B. Anthony Elementary, and Eugene Field Elementary. From 2013 to 2022 I was the Assistant Band Director at Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD. I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Northwestern (St. Paul, MN) and a Master of Music Education Degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Prior to Lincoln, I was the 5-12 Band Director at Heritage Christian Academy in Maple Grove, MN.

Hailey Meyer teaches vocal and classroom music at Patrick Henry Middle School. At Patrick Henry Middle School, she co-directs the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade choirs, the school musical, and directs City Lights. Meyer also teaches Rock On, Humanities, and 6th Grade General Music classes throughout the school day.

Mrs. Meyer absolutely loves getting to smile, laugh, and make music with her wonderful Patrick Henry Middle School students every day!

My name is Tara Stadem, and I am the assistant choir director at Patrick Henry Middle School. I have been teaching for over 16 years.

I earned by Bachelor of Music degree from SDSU, and I specialize in vocal music. I really enjoy singing in church choir and performing solos when I'm not at school. I love teaching music because I see a diverse group of students each day, and they bring such joy into my world. I hope students find my classroom to be full of humor with focused learning. A class that laughs together is a class that thrives together!

Angela Larson

Angela Larson has taught orchestra at several elementary and middle schools in the Sioux Falls School District since 2009. She also serves as an adjunct clarinet instructor at Augustana University, a position she has enjoyed since 2006.

She is a native of Sioux Falls and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Augustana University, and a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Kent State University. She has performed with several local ensembles, including the South Dakota Symphony and Sioux Falls Municipal Band.

Laura Cooper

Sioux Falls native Laura Cooper has been teaching orchestra in Iowa and South Dakota since 2009. She holds degrees from Luther College in Decorah, IA and the University of South Dakota.

An enthusiastic educator and performer, Cooper currently serves as Principal Cellist of the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra and co-runs the White Spruce Chamber Players with her pianist husband, Brett.

Kellee Johnson joined the Sioux Falls School District in 2018 as a substitute teacher and became an art teacher at Patrick Henry Middle School in 2020. Before coming to Sioux Falls, Ms. Johnson lived in Colorado for 28 years and taught art for 27 years.

She encourages students to explore their creativity through a variety of mediums and processes. She is awed every day by the talent she sees in her students. Ms. Johnson's undergraduate degrees are in K-12 Art Education and Commercial Art. She holds a Masters Degree in Reading & Literacy.

Hello, my name is Christy Bossman. I have been teaching art in the Sioux Falls School District since 2007. I received my Art Education Degree, with an emphasis in painting, from the University of South Dakota and my Masters in Educational Technology from the University of Sioux Falls in 2013. I am very fortunate to have a home full of life; lot of plants, too many pets, my two children and husband.
