The Sioux Falls School District strives to recruit and retain the highest-quality educational professionals and support staff to propel our 24,000 students to their greatest success.  The District is the third largest employer in Sioux Falls and is an active supporter of workforce development initiatives.

The District employs 1,869 teachers – 1,242 of whom have earned a Master’s Degree or greater.  We employ 1,363 non-teaching staff for important roles such as office assistants, custodial, child nutrition, behavior specialists, computer programmers, and much more.

SFSD strives to employ the best staff in all positions.  The greatest number of teaching staff have between 4 and 20 years of service.  Another 100+ teachers have between 31-40 years of experience and nine more have 41-50 years of experience.
