Freshman Academy

A structural support system that is designed to help students transition into high school. The framework includes an interdisciplinary collaborative team approach that provides the capacity to enhance student performance by allowing time for teachers and support staff to design and implement plans to help each student reach his/her full potential. Teachers will work together to communicate regularly with families to help students develop academically, socially, and behaviorally through their 9th-grade year as they earn credits to reach sophomore status. Transitioning to high school can be challenging in many ways and research shows that a Freshman Academy support system helps students transition more effectively in the areas of academics, grade retention, behavior modification, and emotional support.

**Not offered at Roosevelt High School.
