The Sioux Falls School District understands the pivotal role research plays in advancing educational practices and expanding the collective knowledge within the profession. Any individual or organization interested in conducting educational research within the district must first obtain approval by the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Achievement. This process ensures that all proposed studies align with the district’s goals and uphold the integrity of the educational environment.

In addition to this approval, all research must adhere to the guidelines established by the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of students and their families. Prospective researchers can find the application link on this page, which outlines the necessary steps for submission and approval.
